They are available right on the boat and are $14 per person for a 2 day license, and if you’d like the crew to clean your fish, they charge $1 per fish. Your filet’s will then be bagged in individual bags for each person aboard.
If you are coming on a vacation package, your lodging, licenses, and continental breakfast are included in the package.
What do I need to bring?
- Coolers to take your fish home in (fish cleaning available)
- Soft Soled Shoes
- Weather Appropriate Clothing
- Food and Beverages (there is room aboard for your coolers)
- Sun Screen
- Plenty of Ben Gay for sore muscles from fighting big fish
- Cameras for pictures of your trophy catch
Where do we meet you and where do we fish?
When you book your trip, Capt. Chip will let you know which harbor, either Northpoint Marina, in Illinois, or Kenosha Harbor, in Wisconsin you’ll probably be fishing out of. Although it only takes an additional 5 minutes driving time to get to Kenosha versus North Point, if the fish are a bit further north or south, going to the closer harbor allows us more fishing time and less running time on the water. Get detailed maps and directions to both harbors by clicking HERE.
When is the best time to come?
This varies depending on what you’d like out of your charter experience. The chart below shows what’s available, when. Here’s the basics of what it boils down to, for fast action and non stop pandemonium, choose early spring, May and June for Spring Coho. The most visually exciting of all the fish, is the sky leaping Steelhead, available in late May through June, and again in August into early September. The fastest and most powerful of all the fish, is the King Salmon, which begin to appear about late June and peak in July and August. The fish that will make your arms ache from bulldoggin in the deeps, is Lake Trout, which are available from June through September, and then specifically targeted on spawning reefs in October.

What is the boat like?
Not only is it is one of the biggest and fastest cruising, in all the Lake Michigan Charter fleet, it is brand new in 2005, and custom built by Capt. Chip Porter specifically for your fishing comfort and success.
